About Justin
Justin is a freelance trumpet player that specializes in jazz and commercial music. Since graduating Humber College’s music program he’s played in everything from swing bands to Top 40 cover bands to mariachi. If it needs trumpet, he’ll play it. If it doesn’t, he’ll probably play it anyway!
While at university, Justin won the Arnie Chycoski Lead Trumpet Award in 2014. He also had the opportunity to perform with guitarist Mike Stern, and study with Canadian music greats such as trombonist Al Kay (The Boss Brass), trumpeter Bruce Cassidy (Blood, Sweat & Tears) and Pat Labarbera (Buddy Rich Big Band).
Career highlights include performing with some incredible musicians like Doc Severinsen (of Tonight Show fame) and Canadian Blues icon, Jackie Richardson. Justin has also had the opportunity to tour from Victoria BC, to Halifax NS with Chelsea McBride’s Socialist Night School. Over the course of his career, Justin has been lucky enough to play at some amazing Canadian music festivals including the Toronto Jazz Fest, Beaches Jazz Fest, Calgary Jazz Fest, Halifax Jazz Fest, Canadian Music Week, Blue Skies Music Festival and many others.
